my cousin brought something to my attention with one of her posts. she wrote about my grandfather. it's been eight years since he died. and that got me thinking...he's in heaven right now and he's undoubtedly been watching over me. but sadly, that doesn't make me feel all that great. i'm sorta ashamed...i must be a big disappointment.

and that brings me to my new goal, well it's a long term goal. err a life long one actually. but, i want to start to live life better. to appreciate it more. to take advantage of it. i've just been sorta drifting these past few years, doing just enough to get by. but that's not what i want! i want life to be an adventure. i want to possess zillions of great memories by the time i am old and gray!

and i shall start this new approach to life with this semester of school first. i've been way too lax with my education lately, and it's time to get back on track! straight a's, here i come!

  today was a day filled with ups and downs.

firstly, daniel and i had some serious discussions. end result=a strictly friends relationship. i'm not quite sure how he feels about it. he seemed to understand my opinion that it just didn't seem like it could work out. but those of you who know daniel, know that he isn't very expressive out loud. he doesn't scream and yell and stuff like that. not like me, i'm a very open, passionate person.

after the serious business was taken care of, he dropped eric and i off at my mom's place. friday, was her b-day but we decided to all get together today for a bbq. it was lots of fun, and there was much laughter. and the food was mmm mmm good!

my mom also showed us some cool trinkets she inherited from her aunt that recently passed away. it was neat to look at the rings and necklaces and other stuff cause it's all from like the 40's and 50's. my mom plans to gift us some of the items for special occassions. the thing that caught my eye was an amethyst necklace.

all in all, today was a pretty nice day.
